Why Do You Need a Cat Scratching Post?
Yes, that’s right folks, I’m asking you the correct question. Let’s see: why do YOU need a cat scratching post? Of course, your cat needs something to scratch all the time, but believe me, she is perfectly happy scratching your beautiful furniture, your curtains and other accessories from your home decor. We love our fluffy adorable pets so much that most of the time we don’t care: let her scratch the furniture, she’s so extremely sweet!
The good news is that there is a solution: you can keep your cat satisfied and your furniture intact at the same time! And we both know that if your cat is happy, you’re happy as well!
The name of the solution is the Cat Scratching Post.
When I first brought home my kitty, she was little, scared and looking for attention most of the time. She didn’t care much about my furniture and was absolutely indifferent towards curtains. But a few days passed and she started to be braver. A true explorer of this amazing jungle called a human’s apartment. I started to find marks of my little explorer’s claws everywhere: on my new expensive curtains, on the legs of my wooden writing desk and on all the armchairs and sofas in the house!
When I looked at my little brave kitty with sorrow, she didn’t understand why I should have some negative feelings: she was having so much fun! Why couldn’t I have fun with her? But we both knew that it’s not going to be so simple!
So, while my courageous fluffy furniture-fighter took a well deserved nap purring happily in my lap, I went online and looked for a solution. Here it was: all I needed to do was to buy a cat scratching post! Well, I thought, there are no limits to human imagination! What a good invention. While my kitty was still asleep, dreaming about her future conquests in the furniture realm, I ordered online a cat scratching post.
Guys, this amazing post saved a couple of things: my furniture, my peace of mind, my kitty’s healthy claws and our mutual loving relationship!
Now, whenever she feels like scratching (and trust me, cats feel that urge very often – it’s a natural instinct helping them to keep their claws sharp), she plays with her favorite toy: the cat scratching post.
My post, besides being a perfect scratching tool and keeping my kitty’s claws in good shape, has a special ball-shaped toy attached with a string to its top. So, the effects are two in one: when the cat feels like playing, she goes in a special hunting mission, the toy being the main objective. This game can last for hours, especially if I get involved! And, of course, when she feels like “It’s time for a sharpening procedure, my weapons are getting rusty”, she’s scratching the strings out of that post!
So, if you have a cat (of course you have a cat, otherwise why would you read this post?), you have a few options: 1. Move to the countryside so your cat will live in harmony with the nature, scratching trees and stuff; 2. Allow your fluffy friend to rule in the house and scratch everything he/she wants; 3. Buy a cat scratching post – make your cat happy and protect your furniture at the same time!
